Currently on rotation, can’t stop listening to ANY version of BTS’s Dynamite.
This week has been a big, fat, intense week of work, work, work. I did get to spend a day in on campus which was interesting as it’s a NEW campus to us. We’ve been shipped off the City Campus and out to Newmarket. Not a long distance as the crow flies but years away in development.
University of Auckland’s Newmarket campus used to be Lion Breweries. All that beer-guff has been long gutted, and the shelled-out corporate buildings feel like they’re lost somewhere between school and the 80s.
We (our team) don’t really belong there, and it shows. We’ve schlepped along after Digital Services who are the real new tenants of these buildings. The COVID-times has meant that so many fewer people work on campus any more they just don’t need as much office space, so are carving out their “new normal” reflected in their surroundings and organisation of staff.
So it was strange on Tuesday to be on campus, no matter what that campus might be, after so many weeks working from home and isolated from real people except for video conferencing and Skype calls..
It was nice seeing some of my team. I mean, we are the best team in the world, after all.
We’re working out what our team’s “new normal” is and that is really interesting.
