Brainstorming for my competition video entryOver this long Labour weekend I spent time creating a video as my entry to the Air New Zealand and Department of Conservation's Great Walks competition.

The competition gives the chance for four people to walk nine of New Zealand's classic walks in nine weeks in 2013. Each of the walks is between 4 and 7 days long and when combined the distance is over 500 kilometres. I think this may be the first time a competition prize has tempted me to the point of action and I got my entry in by the deadline of 5pm Monday 22 October 2012.

There are some really good entries too - if you search "great walker" on youtube.com you'll find a whole bunch of people who are just as keen on winning this amazing prize as I am. The idea of taking nine weeks out of my ordinary life to spend in the New Zealand native bush - blogging, tweeting and facebooking your adventure. Oh my goodness.. makes my mouth water that's for sure.
