Non-blog Day

Blogging every day is not a good idea unless there are lots of things to talk about every day. When there aren't enough words for the blog I end up with posts like this - excuse'y posts posted for the sake of posting.

I've also been really concentrating over at 750words.com this September too which has had the effect of pouring all my words out to Buster and not having any ompf left for here! Tonight I talked about control; about letting go; about minding my own businss; about being down and low and trying to be quiet about things I perceive as not good enough, not executed well, or just plain wrong. It was actually quite a nice thought process that has brought a bit of peace to an ultimately depressing day in the trenches.

That last paragraph was akin to saying "Shoulda been here yesterday, bro. The waves were stellar!"

For the umptenth time this year I will attempt NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month - where a person writes a 50,000 word novel in a month. It's not about quality, it's about quantity and more to the point, it's about instilling a habit of writing every day.

October is coming up fast and I have a lot of stuff going on in that month that I'm looking forward to. A bit of housesitting for friends, a bit of conferencing in Sydney, a bit of socialising for work. Mini-vacations - hidden in the ordinary days of the month. It will be nice to be a visitor in Melbourne once again, and it will be great to be hanging out with my own species in Sydney. The jury is still out about the work related socialising but hey, can't know the answers to everything before they happen, can we?
