I went to work in London yesterday. The bus was delayed by heavy traffic (it's half term) and took 3 hours instead of 90 minutes. I'd left my umbrella in the car, back in Oxford, so it rained the whole way from Victoria station to the Department of Trade and Industry (10 minute walk).
When I got there, they told me the library was closed until April for refurbishments, but it was OK, because the online things I needed to use had been moved to a different part of the building. But the different part of the building is technically inside a government department. So technically I have to book to come down the day before I want to come down so that they can make me up a security pass. So, technically, I couldn't go in. I walked back to the bus stop in the rain. The bus home took 2 hours. I'm going back tomorrow.
