It's the weekend. Sunday night.
It's the weekend. Sunday night. I am having a 'long' weekend - Friday and Monday off as leave. It's nice. More than nice - it's really nice.
I had ULTRA installed on Friday. That's IHUG's high speed internet service. I have to say I'm not overly impressed. Yes, it is faster, but it's not as fast as Telecom's Jetstream. It's also not allowing my modem to work at its maximum so my uploading is actually slower than it was with the 33600bps modem I had before. I have also noticed, it's response time varies, and at times, is none exsistant. So, what to do? I don't know. I have to think about it.
My day has been good, but not very productive - in fact - not productive at all. That's okay, I guess, being Sunday and all. Tomorrow I have a list of things I need to do and places I need to go. So I'll be buzzing all over the place. I spoiled myself last weekend by buying an iBook. I love Macs - Ra and I intend to purchase big Macs in Jan/Feb 2001. I think in the back of our minds we will be making money from them but honestly, we're buying them because they are cool.
So, yes, an iBook. I bought it secondhand, it was a Kings College Student laptop I believe, not very old but a little underpowered so I put an extra 64MBRAM in it today, taking it up to 96MBRAM and that's plenty for me for now. It's orange. That's the new red, you know. You didn't? Orange is the new Red, like white is the new black. I wonder what the new blue is? I suppose it's Lime.
This week I heard the only thing ever on Ally McBeal that made me laugh. No, I don't watch it, but sometimes its just on. "I would rather vomit up my intestines and go snorkling in them than see you naked."
I've resorted to fishing out old images, such as the floral picture on this page, because I can't get my scanner working on the new computer. I have enough new drawings each week to ensure a new picture per diary page for a while, but the blasted computer can't find the scanner. Again, I don't know what to do next.
My tummy's been hurting lately, I think it may be due to coffee. The thought of cutting it out completely doesn't appeal to me. I am trying to cut it down and drinking tea instead - hot water even, but I still have to have at least one decent cup a day. It's an age thing I suppose. Old bod can't handle the toxins like it used to.
Oh, my brain cells seem scattery, don't they?
